With offices in both Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore), our team have worked with clients within the manufacturing, agriculture, hospitality, tourism, real estate, health, wholesale, retail, construction, and professional service industries.

Marcus, Brendan and the business finance team bring a level of trust from a corporate accountant’s long term strategic approach to an industry that has traditionally been focused on getting the best deal on a single transaction.

Versus the approach taken by Synergy Business Finance whose key difference is looking at the long-term outcome for their clients and working holistically across both the accounting and finance outcomes.

MARCUS BARNARD

MANAGING DIRECTOR

As Synergy Business Finance's Managing Director, Marcus spends most of his time working directly with clients on their finance needs.

Growing up in western Queensland, he attended Nudgee College for high school and later Gatton College where he undertook a Bachelor of Business in Property Studies.

After graduating, Marcus joined the banking sector. Now with over 25 years banking experience he has worked with clients throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales - achieving continued results for his clients.

During his banking career Marcus was promoted to State Agribusiness Manager and Regional Executive, managing a large team of commercial and agribusiness managers throughout not only Toowoomba but broader Queensland.

With 2022 saw several changes for Synergy Consolidated – a new home, new service offerings for our clients and even more, a new look. Our client’s needs continue to grow in the current market, which saw an opportunity for Marcus to join the growing Synergy Business Finance team.

Marcus will work with our team of Finance Managers and Finance Officers across an array of lending sectors – from residential, to equipment, commercial and agribusiness.

BRENDAN PHILP

DIRECTOR

Brendan joined Synergy Business Finance in April 2022 and, along with Marcus, oversees all the commercial and residential finance for our diverse range of clients.

As a previous small business owner Brendan understands the importance of having the right finance solutions available and in place to ensure a business can grow. And, whilst finding a finance solution for a client is always rewarding, it is the long-term partnerships and relationships that Brendan is passionate about. Working with clients to grow their business, find their dream home or start their investment property journey are the rewards that make finance broking so fulfilling.

Brendan establishes long-term partnerships and relationships through a keen interest to understand a client’s journey, specific needs, and future goals. Every client has a unique story and taking the time to understand each client’s story is one of Brendan’s best skills. The opportunity to then work with that client over time to achieve their long-term goals is incredibly satisfying.
